IPM Curriculum in a Nutshell

Our IPM curriculum in a nutshell:

  • teacher-and kid-tested designed for you

  • carefully designed

  • based on sound education theory

  • interdisciplinary

  • interactive and hands-on

  • age appropriate

  • rooted in biological and social sciences

Our curriculum meets teachers’ needs for time, resources, money, and confidence building. It meets NYS and national standards. It is built around age-appropriate learning objectives. And it incorporates a number of learning styles.

Note to teachers …

We began this project by offering grade-specific curricula. We no longer do, since there’s substantial variation in capability levels within grades and between schools. Flexibility for teachers is key.

Teacher knows best in each teacher’s classroom—and so we leave which materials to use up to you.

Our IPM K-5 units include:

Earthworms, Soils, Composting
K-5 Animals and Environmental Sciences Unit

Our IPM curricula

  • are informed by partnerships with enthusiastic teachers who are excited about this program

  • help children learn about the ever-shifting interface between science, nature, and culture

  • draw on the larger community of scientists and educators affiliated with Cornell University to assure the highest quality and currency

  • Our two-week loan includes a week’s worth of activities. You can pick and choose, or use the whole shebang.
