Biorationals for Management of Lepidopteran Pests of Fresh-Market Sweet Corn 1998
Project Leader: R. Straub
Evaluate biorational insecticides for efficacy and compare them to conventional insecticides.
Six biorational insecticides were evaluated and compared to a standard pyrethroid treatment and an untreated plot in three separate plantings of sweet corn. Under the application parameters and the extremely high infestation levels of 1998, results showed that only one of the biorationals (Spintorâ ) had sufficient efficacy against European corn borer, corn earworm, and fall armyworm.
