Testing the efficacy of insecticides and fungicides allowed for organic vegetable production 2011

Project Leaders: Abby Seaman, NYS IPM, Cornell University, Chris Smart and Holly Lange, Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology, Cornell University, and Tony Shelton, Entomology, Cornell University

Cooperator:
Brian Luton, Stones Throw Farm

Abstract:

Pesticides used by organic farmers must meet specific criteria established by the National Organic Program. Information about the how well the products work can be scarce in some cases, and difficult to find. We conducted trials on products allowed for organic production against several insect and disease pests important on organic farms and shared results with farmers and extension field staff through newsletter articles, educational meetings, and in organic production guides.
